Eaton's Hydraulic division is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Newbern, TN facility.

It's where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential--and where you can help us reach ours.This position is responsible for managing and replenishing materials, and to manage timely and cost effective purchasing of materials, supplies, and services required to meet the company's production requirements. Key member of the Sales, Inventory, and Operational Planning (SIOP) process team, helping to balance current and forecasted customer requirements and plant production schedules.





Purchases, monitors, and maintains materials necessary to support production requirements in order to maintain volume requirements and fulfill production schedule requirements.




Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning (ERP) information and prepares reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.




Reviews planning parameters in order execution systems (such as MFGPro)




Identifies cost reduction opportunities by reviewing supplier performance and material options in order to meet and/or exceed the cost reduction initiatives.




Train warehouse personnel on cycle counting procedures and MFG/Pro system functions in order to maintain accuracy from initial product receipt to final usage. Lead team with the purpose of eliminating stock losses to avoid downtime, optimizing reporting accuracy of raw materials and preventing financial losses during annual physical inventory.




Provides support as an internal auditor and advisor to MESH and ISO 140001 initiatives in order to optimize the quality and environmental management of raw materials while maintaining ongoing certification objectives.




Provides input for annual cost out projects and maintains database.


Monitors supplier performance in areas of delivery, quality, and cost savings initiatives in order to provide data for supplier evaluation, future business determination.

Basic Qualifications:





Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution


2-3 years Supply Chain Experience in one or more functional area (Supply Chain or Materials Mgt.)


Experience working with an large scale MRP system; Oracle, SAP, MFG Pro, etc.








Preferred Qualifications:





APICS CPIM certification


Manufacturing/plant experience


Experience working with Consumption based replenishment; Min-max, Kanban, etc.


Experience with MRP master data management


Understanding of the SIOP process steps: Forecast, Demand, Supply, Consensus, Executive


Practical understanding of SIOP driven Materials Management including forecasting, scheduling, capacity analysis and inventory management.
